GDPR Risk Evaluation

For many companies, efforts to comply with the Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR), which has come into force since 25 May 2018, have focused on the correction of the corporate website, the public statement that so-called "cookies" and Google Analytics for the collection of personal data be used, and that these tools can also be turned off by the visitor of the website.

The new Business Secrets Protection Law will require a trade secrets management system in the future. According to § 2 (1) of the relevant Federal Government bill, a trade secret is "information that a) neither generally nor in the exact arrangement and composition of its constituents is generally known to the persons in the circles who usually handle such information is readily available and therefore of economic value; and (b) is subject to the circumstances required by appropriate confidentiality by its lawful holder.'
